On February 26-28, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts hosts the XLIX International Vipper Scientific Conference «Classics and modernity. Reflections». Experts from all over the world will discuss the history of the development of images, the search for the commonality of ideas of classic and contemporary art. Among the invited participants is Séverine Fromaigeat, curator of the Museum Tinguely (Basel). On February, 27 she will give a lecture «Capturing ephemerality: the challenges of curating exhibitions of live art» and share her experience of incorporating performance in traditional museum activities using the example of the «PerformanceProcess» exhibit — a large-scale collaborative project by Museum Tinguely, Kaserne Basel, and Kunsthalle Basel, devoted to the history of Swiss performance art in the past 60 years.
