«PARA-KNOWLEDGE» PING – PONG EXCHANGE TALKS BETWEEN NON-PROFIT ART INSTITUTIONS

«Smena» Center for Contemporary Culture and «Typography» Center for Contemporary Art have launched an international fellowship-programme of self-founded cultural institutions, artist-run spaces and regional cultural projects.
The basis for the programme is an online project «PARA-KNOWLEDGE» PING – PONG EXCHANGE TALKS BETWEEN NON-PROFIT ART INSTITUTIONS
It brought together artist-run spaces, independent educational initiatives, non-profit and state cultural and art centres from different regions of Russia with art spaces from different cantons and parts of Switzerland. The goal of the project is to create a dialogue and knowledge exchange between institutions, as well as present of the regional cultural projects and expansion of the partnership network geography in the field of culture and art.
In the course of two days, on July 8 and 9, each institution spoke about its city, cultural projects, and the art scene within moderated online discussions. During the discussions, the participants brainstormed over the issues related to the development and economy of the institutions during the pandemic, cultural programming and curatorial projects in the time of closed borders, problems of the online and offline formats, ways of working with the audience and many other topics.
Participants from Switzerland are: Dogo Residenz (Liechtenstein), Shedhalle (Zurich), CAN (Neuchâtel), sic! Elephanthouse (Lucerne).
The project is a part of the Pro Helvetia Moscow programme FastForwART launched in support of the new formats of cultural exchange.
