Open call: Seminar in Avignon 2019

Pro Helvetia and the Avignon Festival launch a call for applications for the «Séminaire en Avignon».
Each summer, the Medieval city of Avignon is the venue of one of the most important performing arts festivals in the world. As part of the event, young theatre and dance practitioners from a wide array of countries are given the opportunity to participate in an intensive seminar programme offering full immersion in the world of contemporary stage art. The 6th edition of this international project for emerging stage practitioners will take place from 13 to 21 July 2019 and is again jointly organised by the Avignon festival and Pro Helvetia.
The programme enables participants – accompanied by a coach – to watch and discuss a wide variety of performances, to meet professional theatre practitioners from Europe and beyond, and to take part in debates with artists, critics and specialists of the performing arts who are attending the festival.
An eligible candidate must:
- have continuous professional experience in Russia (at an institutional theatre or in the independent scene) as stage director, actor, performer, stage designer or choreographer;
- have some experience in planning and implementing projects of his/her own;
- be no older than 35 years old;
- have a good command of spoken and written French
Applications are to be submitted 18 March 2019 at the latest in French language ONLY via myprohelvetia.ch
