Oksana Yushko Selected for Residency in the Verzasca Valley 2021

Russian photographer Oksana Yushko will participate in the Art Residence in the Verzasca Valley from August 4 to September 5, 2021.

Oksana Yushko is a Moscow based photographer, visual artist, curator, and educator. Her approach combines journalism, sociology, and anthropology, while her practice includes photography, video, and installations. Yushko’s research lies in the intersection of memory and post-trauma, ecology and biopolitics. Her work has been published by the mass media and exhibited in galleries throughout the world.

During her stay at Verzasca art residency she plans to explore the human-nature interaction on various levels through human communication, human-nonhuman interaction, and communication between the plants.

Art residency in Verzasca Valley operates since 2015 and is fully integrated with Verzasca FotoFestival. It allows invited photographers from Switzerland and abroad work in total artistic freedom, interact with the surrounding nature, local population and other artists participating in the festival activities. The residency gives artists an opportunity to make an exhibition within Verzasca FotoFestival.
