October 18 and 20. “Close Encounters of the Sound Kind”

The project was created by Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (MCME) alongside Swiss musicians—viola player, vocalist, and artist Charlotte Hug and drummer Lucas Niggli. The set represents a whole range of contemporary music composing skills: from compositions to free improvisation. MCME performs works by both Swiss and Russian composers, with the Swiss duo’s free improvisations producing a musical counterpoint. In the end both ensembles perform a new composition hart, flüssig, transparent written by Charlotte Hug and based on her visual music scores, Son-Icons. More
