March 4–5. Moscow. Michael Jarrell at Moscow Conservatory

Michael Jarrell is one of the most famous contemporary composers of Switzerland. Student of Klaus Huber, tutor at the Geneva Conservatory of Music, guest composer of the leading European festivals, and Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters, he is coming to Moscow to meet with students of the Conservatory on March 4 and take part in Focus Genève, a concert at the Rachmaninov Hall, on March 5.
Music critics refer to Jarrell’s works as to ‘an encyclopedia of avant-garde music’ and describe his pieces as ‘acutely expressionist.’ If you have never heard his works before, come to Focus Genève: the Studio for New Music Ensemble and other musicians will perform Jarrell’s pieces created in different years. Expect to hear several Russian premieres, too. More
