July 19–21. St. Petersburg. Access Point Festival
The Access Point is the largest forum in Russia which specializes in site-specific theatre. This year the festival’s main program features Yan Duyvendak Company’s project Please, Continue (Hamlet).
The performance is organized as a murder trial. The New Stage of Alexandrinsky Theatre will welcome real judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and psychiatrists who practise in St. Petersburg. Professional actors only perform the roles of Hamlet, Ophelia, and Gertrude. The verdict depends on the decision made by the juries randomly chosen from the viewers. The project explores specifics of the contemporary judicial system and borders of subjectivity. More
