August 14-16. Moscow. «THEATRUM: Re-Formation»

The goal of the «THEATRUM» project in 2020 is to assist theatres and museums getting back to normal life after the pandemic. For this, the organisers have created special edition «THEATRUM: Re-Formation», which includes seven performances uniting theatres and museums of Moscow.  The program curators Ekaterina Vasilyeva, Elizaveta Spivakovskaya, and Anton Flyorov have invited international directors to remotely create projects for Moscow artists.  Live performances take place in Moscow on August 14-16.

Swiss performances include an immersive tour «The Witness» by the Swiss director and artist Julie Beauvais. Sounds of nature and city, attention to the own breathing, memories of childhood sounds serve as the performance foundation. The audience can watch and cautiously listen to what is going to happen during the show in the orangery complex in Tsaritsyno park.

Another Swiss performance «Dreams of Isolation» by Barbora Horáková is also musical. Barbora successfully combines classical opera and acoustic experiments.  She believes that dreaming is an ideal metaphor for the global isolation. Together with the sound designers Janiv Oron and video artist Asya Mukhina, Barbora creates audio-visual environment where artistic texts are mixed with scientific explications, baroque music with the sounds of nature, and scenography embraces natural moss and video monitors. This performance will take place in the New Tretyakov Gallery.

Registration to all events will be open on August 7. Program and all details are available on the website and social networks of the Institute of the Theatre.
