Swiss trio «La Môme» has Edith Piaf to thank for its name, since she first performed before the public as «La Môme», or “little sparrow.”
No one in «La Môme» sings, but, according to clarinetist Phillipp Hillebrand, trombonist Florian Weiss, and drummer Clemens Kuratle, Piaf’s legacy is the music and its colorful melodies generate new interpretations.
«La Môme» say they are a normal, modern jazz trio, though some might consider their music as radical. The musicians will play in thirteen Russian cities. More
